A Vampire Romance Across Ages
Sarah Kalm was debuting their newest play, "A Time or Two Ago", a story about lovers across hundreds of years and the immortal women entangled with them. They requested a large banner to be placed outside the theater during the run.
I was presented with the short script, character summaries, and a short excerpt. Initial drafts had the romance of the two women front and center, but the client settled on a more subtle approach. The two cups are modeled after china patterns used at the time, with silhouettes of the city imprinted on the side - one in the past, and a modern day city scape. Drawing the focus of the viewer is a pendant, an object that ties all of the characters together through time.
